NÚRIA RODRÍGUEZ FONT

I studied Business Administration and Management at the University of Barcelona and these studies were the gateway to great job opportunities where I learned a lot and grew professionally.

I have been working in people development for more than 20 years, the first 11 years in multinationals and for 10 years in educational centers. A few years ago I discovered Positive Discipline and changed the relationship with my children, with my students and in general with all the people who I  interact with. It helped me understand human behaviour.

I have always been attracted and seduced by everything that has to do with the global dimension of the world we live in. Everything that has to do with the rapprochement between people, cultures, religions; everything that makes us embrace diversity and realize that, despite the infinite differences, we are closer to each other than we can imagine. This has also marked my professional career.

This has also marked my professional career, which has always embraced internationality as an englobing wrapping.

I had my first work experience in Belgium where I studied my last year of university. That year, in Leuven, I met North, Central and South Americans, Belgians, French, English, Dutch, Russians, South Africans, Croats, Japanese, Basques, Valencians, people from Madrid, Andalusians, Asturians, Catalans, Cantabrians, … it was magnificent!

The following year, I had the opportunity to stay in Brussels working for an international organization that coordinated the economic development NGOs in Europe.

After this experience I continued my professional career in multinational organizations such as Accenture and Intermon Oxfam where I worked on change management and human resources projects for more than 10 years.

I had the opportunity to live and work in different cultural settings. During this professional period, I trained as a coach at CTI School, following the Co-active coaching model.

And my three children were born: Pau, Júlia and Mar. They are key to explaining who I am today. They are my true teachers.

After the birth of Mar, I changed the course of my career to work with the younger ones, from education. For the last 10 years I have been a high school teacher, tutor, head of SEL and I have also served as a High School Principal at a school in Barcelona.

I am the Founder of Positive Discipline LAB and member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish and the American Positive Discipline Associations. I am specialized in the training and implementation of Positive Discipline in educational organisations. I also work with parents and corporates that want to implement an organizational culture based on respect.

I am passionate about my work and I deeply believe in the capacity of human beings to build a better world. And that change begins with the way we individually interact with one another (be it a child, a pupil, a partner, a friend, a work colleague or a stranger). If you want to help us bridge the world and educate in global competence, contact the Lab and we will tell you how.
